Shaped Strand Wire Rope** is a high-performance steel wire rope constructed from strands made with shaped outer wires—such as triangular, trapezoidal, Z-shaped, or flattened profiles—rather than conventional round wires. These shaped wires allow tighter packing of metal, improved load distribution, and reduced voids between wires, which enhances the rope’s strength, flexibility, fatigue resistance, and durability. The shaped strand design also provides a smoother outer surface, resulting in less wear on sheaves, drums, and guide rollers, and better performance in multi-layer spooling and high-cycle bending operations.
