HPx-180 PCI/PCIe Synchro-Resolver Card

Brands:

The HPx-180 Synchro-Resolver Card is engineered to seamlessly bridge legacy analog position sensors (synchros/resolvers) with modern digital radar systems. By digitising angular signals with 12-bit precision and offering both parallel azimuth and emulated ACP/ARP outputs, it ensures compatibility with both newer high-performance radar input cards (like HPx-410) and older legacy systems. Its use of standard PC power and front-panel diagnostics simplifies deployment in existing architectures, while its wide input voltage and rotation rate support makes it a robust choice for navigation, radar, and control applications.

Description

The HPx-180 PCI/PCIe Synchro-Resolver Card is a dedicated PCI/PCIe form-factor card that converts traditional angular position signals from synchros or resolvers into digital azimuth data for use by modern radar systems. It supports both 3-wire synchro and 4-wire resolver inputs, compares them using a reference voltage, and generates a 12-bit parallel azimuth output (data + strobe) over RS-422.

Additionally, the card can emulate ACP/ARP outputs, making it compatible with legacy radar input cards or older display systems that don’t support parallel azimuth. It is powered via a standard PC power connector rather than drawing data or power from the PCI bus, ensuring clean signal conversion. The front panel includes status LEDs for power, conversion error, and rotation, offering real-time diagnostics.

The HPx-180 is ideal for systems needing precise positioning feedback (e.g., radar antenna control) and for bridging legacy hardware into modern digital processing environments.
